| CAUSE
OF HEATER FAILURE |
SOLUTIONS |
|
Heater loosely fitted on to the barrels/ cylinders |
All kind of Band heaters to be firmly and tightly fitted
to the barrels/ cylinders |
|
Voltage Fluctuations |
Heaters to be operated within the prescribe safe voltages
only |
|
Wrong Selection of Watt densities |
Watt densities should not exceed the recommended safe
limits |
|
Heaters made to operate beyond its maximum Operating temperatures |
The heaters should not operate beyond its maximum recommended
temperatures |
|
Spillage of Polymer melt / Oil onto the heaters |
The spillage's to be rectified immediately |
|
Improper sensing of temperature by the thermocouple |
Check the polarity of the thermocouples with the temperature
controllers. The tip of the thermocouple should be free
of dust and other impurities and should inserted deeply
into the cylinder and very near to the heating area |
|
Improper reading by the temperature controllers |
Temperature controllers properly calibrated and with proper
On / Off cycles should be used |
